Ingredients
1 lb lean sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
4 cups cabbage, thinly shredded
1 large carrot, julienned
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Instructions
Prepare all ingredients by slicing the beef and vegetables before heating the pan.
Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat with 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add the thinly sliced beef and sear quickly until browned and cooked through, then remove from the pan.
In the same pan, add the cabbage and carrots, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender.
Return the beef to the pan and add the minced garlic, soy sauce, and black pepper.
Stir-fry everything together for another 1-2 minutes until well combined and heated through.
Drizzle with sesame oil if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
Always slice beef against the grain to ensure maximum tenderness.
Ensure the wok or skillet is very hot before adding ingredients to maintain the crisp texture of the cabbage.
Substitute beef with extra-firm tofu or chicken breast for dietary preferences.
