Description

This classic Honey Mustard Chicken balances tangy Dijon mustard and sweet honey into a perfectly golden-glazed meal. By searing the chicken breast to create a deep, savory crust and finishing it with a reduction sauce, this recipe produces a refined, restaurant-quality dish that is simple enough for any weeknight. It is light, dairy-free, and incredibly tender, making it a reliable and delicious choice for a healthy, family-friendly dinner served with your favorite sides.

Ingredients

Scale

4 chicken breasts (uniform size)
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
1/3 cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Bring chicken to room temperature for 15 minutes.
Season chicken breasts lightly with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, minced garlic, and smoked paprika.
Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 3-5 minutes, turning chicken to coat in the glaze as it thickens.
Remove from heat once the sauce is glossy and coats the back of a spoon.

Notes

Ensure chicken breasts are similar in size to guarantee even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Pairs beautifully with roasted broccoli, asparagus, or a crisp green salad.
